How to make new blogger template wider

Blogger has come with new blogger templates.  The new designs are much more elegant and more optimize for adsense.  Please note I am referring to the new Template Designer

The only problem is that when you want to make the template wider than 1000 px, you couldn't change it at the template designer. Once you have chosen the template that you want use and applied the relevant setting for the template.


You could make the template wider by following the steps below.


Access Blogger admin site, then Click Design & Click Edit Html


Before editing your template, you may want to save a copy of it. Download a full template.


Find the following code b:template-skin, you will find the following code

 Change the values of the content.width, main.column.left.width and main.column.right.width.  You don't have to change the default value.

Finally, Click Save Template.

View you blog, to check the is no error in your blog. Play with the width values till you make your blogger look nice.


If you didn't get it right just upload back template back up file and apply it back.
