Article Title Questions

Here is the next edition of the EzineArticles.com Article Writing and Marketing: Article Title Training Series.

Ask yourself: “Does my article title entice the reader to ask a question?”

E.g. “Why?,” “How?,” “Who?,” “Where?,” “When?,” etc.

1. After reading your article title, a question should appear in the reader’s mind.  Your article body is where you deliver the answer to that question.

2. This is a powerful concept because you have just engaged the mind of your reader, moving them from a  passive to an active state. In the active state, your reader is more likely to find value in your content and thus visit your website.

3. Never underestimate the power of “How To” article titles. There is clearly a huge demand for articles that
answer common problems in an easy-to-read “How To” format.

4. Don’t be afraid to offer your readers more questions they should ask themselves when evaluating the topic
of your article. Questions become highly relevant answers to your readers because your questions act like a personal coaching session.

5. Avoid the shocking question that forces you to stretch the truth to answer the question in your article body.  Instead, be creative and interesting with your article title question.

What does my article title promise to give to my reader?

Your article title is more than just an accurate description about what the reader will find in your article body; it’s a promise you make to build a trust relationship with your readership.

Ask yourself: “What does my article title promise to give to my reader?

1. Your article title should promise to deliver your expert information on a specific topic. It should build interest
  or motivation.

2. Within 2-5 seconds of anyone reading your article, they should be able to clearly see the answer to the
promise you made in your article title.

3. Do not bait or trick your reader into being forced to visit your website to see the answer to the promise
you made in your article title. This is a credibility and trust violation.

4. If you have a very short article title, be certain that your article body includes the most socially acceptable
or expected solution or information that any reasonable person would expect from a short title.
Better yet, don’t use very short article titles. Instead, make them longer and more descriptive.

Ask yourself: “Does my article body deliver on the promise made in my article title?”

Troubleshooting your AdSense for search box

Today, we’ll take a look at some tips for implementing your AdSense for search box, to avoid some common issues.
  • Are your search results hosted on your own webpage? When implementing your AdSense for search box, you have the option to display the search results either on a site hosted by Google or on your own webpage. If you choose the second option, make sure you select an existing site to host the results, such as www.example.com/searchresults
  • Once you've selected a site to display the search results, hit 'Submit and Get Code' and you'll generate two sets of code:

    1. The first is for the search box, to be implemented on the site where you would like to place the search box
    2. The second piece of code has to be pasted on the results page
Please be sure not to place the two sets of code on the same page, as this will prevent the search box from working correctly. Also, note that the option to host the result on your own page is not available for Blogger sites.
  • Is your AdSense for search code nested within FORM tags? A form tag is used to create an HTML form for user input, such as text fields, buttons, and checkboxes. The code you receive for your search box uses an HTML FORM to submit the search queries. In order for the AdSense for search code to work properly, it can't be nested within another set of FORM tags on a page. To implement the AdSense for search feature on your page, please paste the code into your pages outside of any existing FORM.

9 Qualities or Features of a Great Article Writing and Marketing System

How to be sure the site you submit your articles to is worth your time, effort and content.

At EzineArticles, we're not afraid of a little competition. As a matter of fact, we encourage it! We know the only way for you, and all of our members, to truly excel at article writing and marketing is for each of you to consider the competition carefully and use their services when it's appropriate and beneficial for you.

Unfortunately, in the realm of article marketing services, there is a lot of ... um, crap out there. Since it's in our mutual best interest for you to be successful in your marketing efforts, we wanted to give you the knowledge you'll need to separate the great online article services from the aforementioned crap.

9 Qualities/Features of a Great Article Writing and Marketing System:

How long have they been in business? - Have they been in business for more than a year? Bonus points for those that have been driving traffic for 5 or more years. Systems that are less than 6 months old are too new and unable to get you traffic.

Who's actually running or moderating the site? - Can you figure out within 10 seconds of surfing the site who actually owns or is in charge of it? Article marketing system owners that hide themselves from the public probably don't want to be found. And most likely they won't worry about traffic finding you either.

Is the article marketing service human powered or fully automated? - A fully automated system is usually a sign that the owner doesn't intend to police the quality of the content. There's no pride in having your articles in a system that doesn't care about quality.

What's their response time? - If you email them, do they respond within 24-48 hours? Did your email to them bounce back as undeliverable? If you can't contact them, that might be a sign that they're not in the game to help you.

How many authors are listed? - The more authors they have the better. Article directories with less than 1,000 authors are still trying to get their foot in the door and probably can't give you much traffic.

Do they provide RSS feeds, email alerts, forward to a friend functions, social media integration and other strategies to increase the distribution of your articles? - Do they have thousands of members of their own double opt-in mailing lists to promote your articles? If they do, that's great. That just means that they are trying to help you get more exposure.

Are they responsible with the advertising on their site? - For example, do they have pop-ups, or exit pops? Are they shamelessly promoting random products or have the 'punch the monkey' ads? If they do, be careful. You want an article marketing service where your success is priority #1; not the advertisers.

Do they provide article reports to help you see which articles are getting traction? - If your success is important to them, then they'll give you tools so you can grow your skills and improve your success.

Does it generate traffic back to your site or not? - The whole reason you're writing and submitting articles in the first place is to get traffic back to your site. If you don't get traffic from them, you're wasting your efforts.

You make your articles available for syndication because you want to ...

  • Improve your targeted web traffic ...
  • Enhance your credibility ...
  • Drive leads to your products ...
  • Grow your email list ...
  • And more!
Unfortunately, you don't have unlimited time in your day to submit your articles to every newbie article marketing system that begs for your attention.

Prioritize the best article sites that meet or exceed the above 9 criteria to help determine which ones should get your valuable attention.

Top 5 factors ezine publishers look for when deciding which articles to publish

Interesting newsletter from EzineArticle for your reading.

Here are the top 5 factors ezine publishers look for when deciding which articles to publish:

1. Does the article have zero self-serving links in the article body?

Loading up the body of your article with affiliate links or other obvious self-serving links is a liability and will keep your article from ever seeing top results.

2. Does the article have no more than 2 self-serving links in the resource box?

Your resource box at the bottom of your article should be short and to the point. It should also be less than 10% of the total word count of your article. Ezine publishers don't mind giving you name credit and a link for sharing your article with them, but they don't want to look like a fool by being required to reprint a short novel about all of your websites and accomplishments.

3. Is the article within 250-700 words?

Readers want instant gratification from your quality, original content. No one has the time to really go deep when it comes to reading email newsletters. It's proven that shorter articles achieve a much higher distribution rate than longer ones.

4. Does the article deliver quality, original content with numbered lists, bullet points or easy to glean information their audience would deem valuable?

Key Point: Make sure your articles are 100% original content. Anything less is considered an insult.

5. Is the article's author well recognized or respected within their market niche?

Ezine publishers have an ego just like you. They want to use articles in their email newsletters that make them look good. The more you use your articles to help yourself gain credibility for your unique expertise within your niche, the greater the chances you'll find your articles getting picked up by your ezine publishing peers.

Important of securing your online data transaction with SSL certificate

With constant threat from hackers whom continue to write smart viruses and Trojans to capture financial data, important of data security for any business is very crucial.

I have come across some business owners that request customers credit card information without any protection at all. To make it more worst, they request the CVC Code and expiry data.

With this level of naivety among business owners , hackers can easily intercept the valuable information for their financial gains.

To prevent this kind of problem, secure your business data transaction using SSL certificate.

SSL stands for Secure Sockets Layer. It provides a secure connection, allowing you to transmit private data online securely. Sites secured with SSL display a padlock in the browsers URL and possibly a green address bar if secured by an EV SSL certificate.

Another way to identify that the data communication done securely between your web browser and the server is to look at the address bar where the “http” protocol has change to “https”.  For example http://mail.google.com/ change to https://mail.google.com/

By using SSL certificate, your customers could also validate your website as legitimate business.

Why validation is important? Because it tells your customers that they are dealing with you and not a fake website developed by con artist to steal credit card information.

You can validate a business website by checking the SSL certificate.  If you're using Google Chrome browser, click the padlock icon at the address and it will show the identity of the website owner, connection encryption type and the history.

For further details, click Certificate Information.  In the Certificate Information, you will know to whom it is Issued To, Issues By and the validity period.  The certificate period must be valid, then only the data transaction is secure.

Details such as name, credit card number and amount can be intercepted and altered if it is done “in the clear”. SSL certificate prevents data alteration problem.

So, if you considering to do online business in the future, one way to protect your customers data and your business is to secure the data transaction with high grade SSL certificate.

Build your website fast, elegant and securely !

Twitter hack again by phishing problem.

Thousands of Twitter users have seen their accounts hijacked after a viral phishing attack which sends out messages saying "this you??" or "hey, i've been having better sex and longer with this here" and other sex-related "direct" messages.

The invitation is spreading virally but it leads to identity theft and malware problem for anyone who clicked the link.

Some of the victims are the Press Complaints Commission, BBC correspondent Nick Higham and Matt Wells, Guardian's Head of Audio.

The purpose of the attack is to steal password and also to install malware at the user pc.  This is to steal valuable information such as password and other valuable data such as credit card information for financial gains. Since, most users will be using the same password for many websites.

Moral of the story don't use the same password for many websites, especially for your online banking service.
